We know that preparing ahead for a day out on the water makes all the difference to your enjoyment and comfort. So, here’s a few things that we prepared for you. If you can’t find the answer to your question here, please get in touch with us!
FAQS SEA LION INTERACTIONS & CHARTERS
+ Will we definitely see the sea lions?
Sea lion sighting is 100% guaranteed, due to the nature of the experience interaction is not. Sea lions are wild animals and interaction is different every day. We maintain sustainable tourism practices by not forcing interaction, simply sharing the space! As a family-owned business, dedicated to providing quality and meaningful experiences, if the sea lions do not enter the water on your tour, you will be invited back - free of charge!
+ If I do not swim will I still see the sea lions?
Yes – the sea lions will often come right up to the boat! We also have binoculars on board for our observers.
+ Do I need my own snorkel gear?
No – we supply all your equipment! Long arm and leg wetsuits (from kids sizes, up to 5XL (3XL in standard clothing), masks, snorkels and fins.
+ What do I need to bring on the sea lion tour?
Swimwear and a towel - we take care of the rest!
+ What if I get seasick?
We encourage those prone to seasickness to see their doctor or pharmacist ahead of the tour for advice. Due to the large size and stability of our vessels - sea sickness is rare.
+ Is there a toilet and shower onboard?
Yes – we have a private bathroom with a toilet and hot shower onboard for the comfort of our guests!
+ Will we have a guide in the water while swimming with sea lions?
Yes – our tour is fully guided by experienced and certified crew members and marine biologists. We maintain a strict higher than standard crew to passenger ratio for your safety.
+ I am not a strong swimmer, can I still participate?
Yes – we have life jackets on board! We require passenger to be able to keep themselves afloat unassisted to participate in the water activity. Please see tour description for further information.
+ How deep is the water on the sea lion tour?
Depending on tide, it is a 1.5-2 metres deep where you enter the water. There are areas where you will be able to stand.
+ I have small children; would they enjoy the tour?
Yes – children have an amazing time! In fact, sea lions are often drawn to them!
